Chulu West Peak is one of the stunning climbing Peaks in the Annapurna region. It offers a serious climbing challenge for people wanting to explore the Annapurna Region.

Chulu West Peak situated in a little valley two days trek north from Manang. The view from the summit is breath-taking, featuring a wide range of Himalayan peaks, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, and mountains in Tibet.

Being one of the most challenging trekking peaks in Nepal, Chulu West requires great personal commitment; previous trekking or climbing experience is a must. However, we run special climbing training sessions at base camp before you start climbing. This session led by our experienced climbing guides, and include training in the use of climbing equipment. After you have completed the training you will have the skills and confidence required to ensure a safe and successful climbing experience.

Chulu West Expeditions and trek starts from the village Chame, where you will reach by Jeep (8-9 hours) from Kathmandu. From Chame, we follow the popular Annapurna Circuit trail all the way to Manang, where we will spend a rest/acclimatization day. From Manang, we continue north to the Chulu West base camp, where we spend another day acclimatizing and training for the climb.

Chulu West route to the summit is along the north-west ridge. From the summit, you will enjoy truly amazing views of the snowy peaks of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. After the summit we will continue the trek, crossing Thorong-La (5416m). Thorong-La provides great views of both Manang and Mustang.

Once we are over this high pass we descend into the Kaligandaki valley and the dry but beautiful lower Mustang region. Towns here include Muktinath and Kagbeni. In Muktinath, you will see a temple where Hindus, Buddhists, and Bon practitioners all still worship, a great example of modern-day religious tolerance. Our trek ends at Jomsom, from where daily flights leave for Pokhara.
