Phulchowki (2782 m) is the highest hill in the Kathmandu valley. It is located south of the Kathmandu city. The hill is one of the most beautiful hiking destinations to escape from the crowded city for a day. Phulchowki is surrounded by dense forests of different vegetation including oak and rhododendron and the hike offers splendid mountains views, pleasant hiking experiences through lush green forests. Because of the dense forest we have opportunities to see the wild animals and many different species of birds and in the end, a visit to the beautiful Godavari Botanical Gardens at Godavari.
After having breakfast at 7:00 o'clock we drive to Godavari about 14 kilometers south of Kathmandu which takes an hour. From there we start our hiking following hiking trail. The trail gradually ascends through sub-tropical forest to the top of the Phulchowki. The magnificent view of Annapurna range to the west to Gaurishanker in the east can be seen from here on a clear day, apart from the breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley. After lunch and strolling around for some time we hike down following the same trail to Godavari and visit Botanical Garden then drive back to Kathmandu.
