Sundarijal-Kapan Day Hiking in one of the perfect day trips to escape from the city crowds and enjoy nature. Sundarijal (Gagdwar), is renowned as the place where the sacred river Bagmati begins and it is the main water source of thirsty Kathmandu people. We drive about an hour to Sundarijal bus park from the city center and gradually ascend to Mulkharka Village following the Bagmati River. From there, a fairly level trail leads us to Tarebhir Tamang village through the dense forest and a continuous easy walk to Nagi Gompa and hike down hill to Kapan. The hike offer stunning views of the Kathmandu valley, paddy fields, picturesque villages and more.
After breakfast, drive to Sundarijal Bus park. Gradually narrow stone step trail leads us up hill following the bagmati river passing beautiful waterfalls and through the forest to Mulkharka Tamang Village. From here the trail is fairly easy, goes through the dense forest and we might have opportunity to see some wildlife, especially wild Boar, Deer and Birds. We follow easy level walk to Nagigompa via beautiful Tarebhir Tamang village and from there we descend to Kapan and drive to Home.
