Nagarkot 1 Day Tour is a popular tourist activity near the Kathmandu Valley. The tour includes a day trip to the fabulous hill station of Nagarkot, situated east of the Kathmandu Valley at an altitude of 1930m above sea level. It is a renowned tourist destination in the region, providing breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas, including Mount Everest, rolling hills, deep valleys, lush green forests, and picturesque villages. This makes it a well-known spot to enjoy magnificent sunrise and sunset views near Kathmandu.

To begin the Nagarkot Day Tour, we drive to Nagarkot early in the morning, usually starting at 4-5 am, depending on the season. After enjoying the sunrise view, we have breakfast and take a walk around Nagarkot to explore the area. Then we take a short drive to Changunarayan Temple, situated on a ridge overlooking the valley, about 12 km east of Kathmandu. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu – the Preserver and is one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture, embellished with exquisite wood and stone carvings. The temple is said to be the oldest pagoda-style temple in Nepal, built sometime back in 323 A.D. The sacred complex is a World Heritage Site and offers a panoramic view of the surroundings.

After the Changunarayan Temple Tour, we drive to the ancient city of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon, which literally translates as the City of Devotees. This major tourist attraction covers an area of 4 sq. miles and retains charming red brick houses and a way of life. The extraordinary Durbar Square, with its celebrated Golden Gate and embellished Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, reflects the glory days of the Malla Dynasty. The city dates back to the medieval period when art and architecture thrived in the three cities of the Kathmandu valley. Situated 14km east of Kathmandu, this ancient city is also famous for pottery and woodcarving, amply displayed on the squares and windows, respectively.
