Bardia National Park is the largest and famous National Park for Jungle Safari in Nepal. Bardia National Park is located 585km south-west from Kathmandu. The National Park was established as a Royal Hunting Reserve in 1976 and later announced as the Karnali Wildlife Reserve. But in 1982 it was renamed Bardia National Park and it covers the whole Babai valley to 968 square kilometers.

Bardia National Park is the most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai region of Nepal and the park is thickly forested by Sal trees, carpeted with Grass savannah and River. There are excellent opportunities to spot endangered species like the rhinoceros, wild elephants, tigers, swamp deers, blackbucks, crocodiles, and the Gangetic dolphin. Over 300 species of resident and migratory birds, including endangered birds which includes the Bengal florican, lesser florican, and Sarus crane, Bardia is a paradise for the bird lovers. More than 30 different mammals and many reptiles and fishes are thriving here.

Apart from the park, one can meet the local Tharu people and explore their culture. Their houses are constructed with bamboo, covered with a layer of mud and dung with colorful paintings and carvings on the outer walls.
