The Ultimate High-Altitude Adventure in Nepal
Venture off on an extraordinary journey in the Everest Region with the legendary Everest Three Pass Trek, one of the most challenging and rewarding treks in Nepal. Designed for experienced trekkers, this high-altitude adventure combines dramatic landscapes, demanding mountain passes, and deep cultural immersion in the heart of the Khumbu Valley. Throughout the trek, you will pass through traditional Sherpa villages, experience local customs, and witness some of the most spectacular Himalayan scenery on Earth.
Scenic Flight to Lukla and Trek through Sherpa Villages
The adventure begins with a thrilling 30–35-minute mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to Everest Region trekking. From Lukla, the trail gradually ascends through beautiful Sherpa settlements such as Phakding, Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Thame, and Lungdeng. As the journey progresses, you cross the impressive Renjo La Pass (5,435m), where sweeping views of the Khumbu Himalayas unfold, revealing four of the world’s highest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.
Gokyo Lakes Valley and Cho La Pass
After crossing Renjo La, the trail descends into the stunning Gokyo Lakes Valley, renowned for its turquoise glacial lakes and pristine alpine scenery. A climb to Gokyo Ri Peak (5,373m) rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the Mahalangur Himalayan range. Continuing onward, the route leads to the challenging Cho La Pass (5,420m). Upon crossing this rugged high pass, the trek reaches the iconic Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar (5,545m), the second-highest viewpoint of the journey and the best place for close-up views of Mount Everest.
Khongma La Pass, Imja Valley, and Chukung Ri
From Everest Base Camp, the trek continues across the highest pass of the route, Khongma La Pass (5,535m), entering the scenic Imja Valley. Here, an optional ascent of Chukung Ri Peak (5,553m)—the highest point of the Everest Three Pass Trek, offers a final and unforgettable Himalayan panorama. With all three high passes conquered, the trail gradually descends through Dingboche, Pangboche, Tengboche, and Namche Bazaar, before concluding in Lukla.
