What Is the Everest Three Pass Trek Itinerary?
The adventure begins with a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by trekking through Phakding, Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Thame, and Lungdeng. The first challenge is crossing Renjo La Pass (5,435m), offering breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.
The trail then descends into the beautiful Gokyo Valley, famous for its turquoise, serene lakes. A climb to Gokyo Ri (5,373m) rewards you with the greatest panoramic Himalayan views in the Everest area. Continuing onward, cross the rugged Cho La Pass (5,420m) and reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar (5,545m), the best viewpoint for close-up Everest views.
The final challenge is Khongma La Pass (5,535m), leading into the Imja Valley. An optional climb to Chukung Ri (5,553m), the highest point of the trek, offers a final breathtaking Himalayan panorama. The route then descends via Dingboche, Pangboche, Tengboche, and Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

Note: In the peak season (March–May and October–November), most Lukla flights operate from Ramechhap (Manthali), due to increased air traffic. It is about 135 km east of Kathmandu and takes a 3–4 hour drive. To avoid a very early departure from Kathmandu, adding one extra day will make your journey more comfortable and less stressful.
