Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal – A Restricted Himalayan Adventure

Manaslu Trekking is a true adventurer’s journey in the Manaslu Conservation Area, about 100 km northwest of Kathmandu. Known as a semi-restricted trekking region in Nepal, the Manaslu Circuit Trek requires a special permit, helping preserve its pristine landscapes and offering a peaceful, less-crowded trekking experience in Nepal.

Remote Trails, Culture, and Natural Beauty
The Manaslu Circuit Trekking route passes through unspoiled landscapes, remote villages, and diverse ecosystems rich in flora and fauna. Trekkers experience authentic Nepali and Tibetan culture, with ancient traditions, prayer flags, and warm mountain hospitality adding depth to the journey. This unique blend of nature and culture makes Manaslu one of the most rewarding treks in Nepal.

Manaslu Trek Itinerary Highlights
The trek begins at Machhakhola, following the dramatic Budhi Gandaki Gorge through typical villages perched on steep hillsides. Beyond Ghap, Tibetan influence becomes more prominent as the valley widens, revealing stunning mountain views, including Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m). Historically an important trade route to Tibet, the trail still reflects a hidden Buddhist world, with monasteries, mani walls, and stupas along the way.

Larkya La Pass – The Ultimate Challenge
The highlight of the trek is crossing Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), one of Nepal’s most spectacular high mountain passes. From the top, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding snow-covered peaks. The descent leads into the lush Marsyangdi River Valley, completing the circuit beneath the towering Manaslu and Annapurna ranges at Dharapani before driving back to Kathmandu.
