Chulu West Peak Climbing in Nepal – A Challenging Adventure in the Annapurna Region
Chulu West Peak is one of the most beautiful and challenging trekking peaks in the Annapurna Region. This rewarding high Himalayan climbing adventure is ideal for trekkers and mountaineers seeking a remote and technically demanding peak climbing experience in Nepal.
Located in a secluded valley north of Manang, Chulu West Peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, along with several magnificent Himalayan peaks stretching toward Tibet.
As one of the more technical trekking peaks in the Annapurna area of Nepal, Chulu West Peak Climbing requires good physical fitness and previous trekking or climbing experience. To improve safety and summit success, our experienced climbing guides provide basic training sessions at Base Camp, including instruction on the proper use of climbing equipment and mountaineering techniques.
Chulu West Peak Climbing Route
The Chulu West Peak expedition begins from Chame, which is reached after a 9–10 hour jeep drive from Kathmandu. From Chame, the trail follows the classic Annapurna Circuit route toward Manang, where an acclimatization day is spent before continuing north to Chulu West Base Camp.
Another acclimatization and climbing training day is scheduled at Base Camp before the summit attempt. The climbing route follows the northwest ridge and offers an exciting and technically challenging ascent. From the summit, climbers can enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of the grand Himalayas, including the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.
Thorong La Pass and Mustang Valley
After successfully summiting Chulu West Peak, the trek continues across the famous Thorong La Pass (5,416m). The pass offers incredible views of the Manang and Mustang valleys before descending into the Kali Gandaki Valley and the dry landscapes of Lower Mustang.
Cultural Highlights and Trek Conclusion
The journey also passes through culturally rich villages such as Muktinath and Kagbeni. In Muktinath, climbers visit the sacred temple where Hindus, Buddhists, and Bon practitioners worship together, reflecting the region’s unique spiritual harmony. The Chulu West Peak Climbing adventure concludes in Jomsom, from where you can either fly or drive to Pokhara.
Join the experienced team at Blossom Expeditions and take on the thrilling challenge of Chulu West Peak for an unforgettable Himalayan climbing adventure in Nepal.
