The Annapurna Mulde Peak Trekking is an alternative route extension of the classic Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, offering a perfect blend of famous viewpoints and quiet, off-the-beaten-path trails in the Annapurna region. This short yet scenic trek rewards hikers with breathtaking Himalayan panoramas from Poon Hill (3,193m) and Mulde Peak (3,637m), showcasing the towering Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges.
Beyond the mountain views, the trek provides a deep cultural experience as you pass through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, walk across terraced farmlands, and witness authentic rural life in the mid-hills of Nepal. Lush rhododendron forests, peaceful trails, and warm village hospitality make this journey both visually stunning and culturally enriching.
Brief Mulde Peak Trek Itinerary
The trek begins in Pokhara, followed by a scenic drive to Tirkhedhunga. From here, the trail joins the classic Ghorepani route, ascending through Ulleri, a picturesque Magar village known for its stone steps, and continuing to Banthati. As the path gradually climbs, it passes through oak and rhododendron forests, crossing streams and small canyons before reaching Ghorepani.
An early morning hike to Poon Hill offers one of Nepal’s finest sunrise views, with sweeping panoramas of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu. After enjoying the scenery, the trek continues east toward Thapla Danda, climbing steadily through bamboo and rhododendron forests. From the ridge, you’ll enjoy striking views of the Kali Gandaki Valley and the Dhaulagiri range before descending briefly to Deurali.
Leaving the busy Poon Hill trail behind, the route ascends through alpine forests and summer grazing areas to the summit of Mulde Peak. This quiet, less-traveled trail offers a true sense of wilderness. The moderately steep ascent is exceptionally rewarding, offering 360-degree views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges, along with the Kali Gandaki and Modi Khola valleys. Mulde Peak remains a hidden gem in the Annapurna region, ideal for trekkers seeking solitude and raw natural beauty.
Relax and Rejuvenate at Jhinu Danda
The return journey leads through Tadapani to Jhinu Danda, where a short walk brings you to natural hot springs beside the Modi Khola River. Soaking in the warm, mineral-rich water is the perfect way to relax tired muscles after days of trekking. After this rejuvenating experience, you’ll drive back to Pokhara, concluding your unforgettable adventure.
The Annapurna Mulde Peak Trek is ideal for travelers seeking a short, scenic, and culturally rich Himalayan trek. Join Blossom Expeditions and experience a peaceful yet adventurous journey through one of Nepal’s most beautiful mountain regions.
