Climb the World’s Fourth-Highest Mountain
The Lhotse Expedition is one of the most challenging and rewarding 8000-meter climbing adventures in Nepal. Standing at 8,516 meters, Mount Lhotse is the fourth-highest mountain in the world, located beside Mount Everest in the Everest Region along the border of Nepal and Tibet. Famous for its steep faces, technical terrain, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery, Mount Lhotse is a perfect choice for experienced climbers seeking a challenging and true high-altitude expedition.

Journey Along the Legendary Everest Base Camp Route
After completing all permits and official formalities, the expedition begins with an exciting mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla, the expedition trail follows the classic Everest Base Camp route through traditional Sherpa settlements such as Phakding, Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Tengboche, Pangboche, and Dingboche. The trail passes through suspension bridges, pine, rhododendron, and birch forests, alpine terrain, glaciers, and deep mountain valleys before finally reaching Everest/Lhotse Base Camp.

Climbers gradually acclimatize while trekking through the magnificent Khumbu Valley and have the opportunity to visit ancient Buddhist monasteries, stupas, mani walls, and colorful prayer flags along the way while experiencing the typical Sherpa culture and warm hospitality.

Thrilling Adventure to the Summit of Lhotse
After reaching Everest/Lhotse Base Camp, climbers spend time preparing, practicing, and acclimatizing properly before the summit push through the Khumbu Icefall, Western Cwm, and the steep Lhotse Face toward the summit of Mount Lhotse. A successful ascent requires excellent physical fitness, previous high-altitude climbing experience, proper acclimatization, and strong determination. The summit rewards climbers with spectacular 360-degree views of Mount Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and countless surrounding Himalayan peaks stretching across Nepal and Tibet.
