A little bit of hardship and a little bit of adventure would be a perfect blend of getting a memorable lifetime journey, isn’t it? Standing at the height of 7,134 meters, Tilicho Peak is rated as a technical climb in Nepal. It is situated on the northern side of Manang in the Annapurna region. The northeast part of this peak will be dazzling in the snow with the Marsayangdi Valley to the east and Kali Gandaki to the west. Moving further to the north, you will come across the hiddenkingdom of Mustang. Emanuel Schmutz, a French climber, opted for this climb for the first time, reaching Lake Tilicho (4919m).

Following the standard route, we trek up to Manang, followed by Tilicho Lake, then towards the mountain. Three high camps will be entrenched within the path to the summit of Peak Tilicho. You will be experiencing a straightforward climb from the Base Camp to Camp 1 at 5800 meters and Camp 2, located at 6200 meters. The trail will take you through Besisahar via Marsayangdi valley in around ten days. After summiting the Tilicho Peak, you can head out from Humde to a single day hike from the Base Camp orthree days walk from Jomsom via Thorong La pass at 5416 meters.

Another route to Tilicho Base Camp is from Kali Gandaki valley, which is a bit tough via Mesokanto Pass at 5300 meters. And let us not forget about this amazing view that you will witness from Tilicho. From this magnificent height, the view of theMustang, upper Manang, Dhaulagiri, Kali Gandaki Valley (the deepest gorge in the world) are all summed up in a single picture. Usually, two typical trails reach up to the Tilicho Base Camp. The first one includes taking a drive toChame and starting the trek to the Base Camp within several days. Anotheralternative path is to take a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and then begin the trek.

However, if you are looking forward to having sufficient time for acclimatization with fewer problems with all your logistics, choosing the first option would be the best idea. These trails with the view and the surrounding will be beyond your expectations and imagination. You will witness a glacial lake which is quite far away from marine life. However, there are marine fossils here, and locals believe that the Himalayas were once beneath the sea.

Imagine standing at the Tilicho summit with a view of the glazed shining lake below. How alluring would this scenery be!
