Tamang Heritage Trail is the newest trekking route in Langtang Region, and we combined the Tamang Heritage Trail Trek and Popular Langtang Valley Trek to make the trekking more exciting. This trekking area is located approximately 30 kilometers north of Kathmandu. This Tamang Heritage Trail and Langtang Trek offer a unique and unforgettable trekking experience. The unchanged culture, the beauty of nature, and the warm hospitality can be heart-touching feelings during the Trek.

Tamang Heritage Trail Langtang Trekking offers an excellent view of snow cap Mountain Langtang (6596m.), Ganesh Himal, Paldor Peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu, and Sanjen Himal. The trekkers will receive a hearty welcome facilitated by the locals Tamang and Tibetan people. Their rich and unchanged culture, the architecture of their mountain houses, and ancient monasteries will draw your interest. The trek goes through the spectacular landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and Rhododendron forests.

The area is mainly inhabited by ethnic Tamang and Tibetan communities. Tamang communities are generally found on higher elevations with the people engaging in shifting cultivation and extraction of forest products. They are mainly sheep and yak herders but grow some hardy grains and vegetables. Their daily life activities include raising livestock, agriculture, and trade with Kerung in Tibet. They also make baskets and mats from mountain bamboo.

Trek continues through the Langtang Valley, up to Kyanjing Gompa (the last village of the area). The upper Langtang Valley is a grazing paradise, rich in flowers, grass, and dotted with stone huts used in the summertime for making butter sewn in skins and exported to Tibet to flavor the tea and fuel for monastery lamps. The day climbs to Kyanjin Ri 4770m for a panorama view of mountains including Langtang Lirung 7252m, Yabra Himal 6305m, Yala Peak 5500m, Dorji Lakpa 6990m, Naya Kanga 5846m Gangchenpo 6378m, and many more unnamed snowcapped mountains. Along the trail, you can see picturesque settlements and unique houses are decorated in Tibetan style.
